Catch-UP Time - After School Tutoring
Students who need to make up or "catch-up" on missing assignments or who need extra help in classes can get it now on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the Silverado Media Center, 1:00 - 2:00pm. Textbooks are available for use in the Media Center during that time. Parents and students can check grades online on the Silverado website. Click on "grades & attendance" button. You will need a student ID number to access the information; you can get that number from the Silverado office or from one of the Silverado teachers. If students are missing assignments, they should check with the teacher and then come to afternoon tutoring to make up the work.
SVUSD Plan for H1N1 (Swine) Influenza
According to the Orange County Health Care Agency, most people experiencing H1N1 flu are experiencing relatively mild illness which may include fever, sore throat/cough, headache, body aches, etc. The following actions should be taken to halt the spread of germs that cause this illness:
    • Cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow
    • Wash hands often with soap or use hand sanitizer
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
    • Clean surfaces that are often touched regularly and routinely.
    • People with symptoms should stay home to avoid infecting others.
    • Students who are sent home with flu symptoms will be allowed to return to school after being fever free (100 degrees or greater) for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.

For more information and the latest updates about H1N1 2009 influenza in Orange County, visit the OC Health Care Agency at http://www.ochealthinfo.com.
