What is the Academy program?
Silverado's State Partnership Academy is a program designed to provide students with the unique opportunity to pursue their academic high school diploma while preparing for the transition to the world of work. Students are paired with a mentor (an adult community member who serves as a role model, friend, and guide) during their junior year. Academy students are also eligible to attend a number of field trips during the year designed to introduce them to the world of work.
Academy students have the opportunity to explore a variety of career choices through the Career Survey course. Students who decide to fully integrate into the Academy Program then select from one of three Career Pathways: 1) Health; 2) Business/Computers; or 3)Art Production.

For further information about Silverado's Career Academy program, please contact our Academy Coordinator, Ms. Robin Bechtel.

ALPS (Alternative Learning Program for Students)

ALPS is an independent study program designed for "at risk" students whose attendance or behavior is not conducive to placement in daily class. Students work on three academic contracts and have a minimum of one meeting with their instructor per week. Upon completion of ten (10) credits, a student is eligible for transfer to another program. For additional information, contact ALPS coordinator David Goodman.
